About Jute
Jute is an extremely versatile natural fibre grown in select parts of South-East Asian countries and is commonly known as the “Golden Fibre” because of the natural color of the processed fibre(although mainly Golden-Brown, it varies from White to Silver-Grey).
Most of the world's jute is cultivated in the delta formed by the rivers Ganga & Brahmaputra, covering up areas over the Eastern region of India and almost the whole of Bangladesh. The fibre is extracted from the stem of the green jute plant after being retted in water. The fibre are then spun into a yarn, and then woven into the Jute fabric. This Jute fabric is also called Burlap in the USA. This fabric is available in different qualities, having different levels of roughness & fineness, for further uses. This material is used to make sacks/bags of all types and other various types of utility products. Silky lustre, high tensile strength, low extensibility, long durability, considerable heat & fire resistance and rugged textural appearance make the Jute fabric a unique textile material. Because of this liveliness of the fibre, its products are rapidly gaining the priority of the world-wide consumers. Another reason why Jute products are gaining more & more popularity is that they are completely eco-friendly.
Jute, a natural eco-friendly fibre, has been in use for various purposes over the centuries throughout the world. Jute, having been the most environment-friendly natural fibre because of its inherent unique properties, has counts of advantages over other man-made artificial polymer fibre products.
Available in inexhaustible quantities at comparatively low prices, Jute, hitherto pioneer packing material, has found its place to substitute several expensive fibres and also save scarce forest resources. With strong product innovativeness backed up by New Generation Technologies and aggressive marketing initiatives in the Jute producer-exporting countries in the sub-continent. Jute is being increasingly looked upon not only as a major textile fibre, but also as a raw material for products which help protect environment, maintain ecological balance and reduce health hazards.
Products made out of Jute are 100% bio-degradable, eco-friendly, non-toxic and natural. Apart from that, Jute products provide you with more versatility, durability and re-usability, compared to products made of other fabrics.
The high tensile strength of the fabric accounts for the strength and durability of its products. Added to that, the low extensibility of Jute results in the retention of the shape and size of the product for years. Jute, being pollution-free and bio-degradable, is considered the best substitute in the world markets for polythene or PVC bags(which have now been banned in most developing countries). Hence, by using Jute products, we can put in our efforts to keep our world more green and pollution-free.
Natural Jute bags made out of Jute fibre are unique with expressions in hand–printing and use of pure basic colours to retain the beauty of fibre and fabric. It is as if a whole New World of Nature is created with weave, colours, prints & patterns. Jute Bags – a growing global favourite.
